Felix Leiberg
Felix Leiberg is an award-winning DOP based between Berlin and Lisbon. Trained at Germany’s prestigious Film University Babelsberg (Filmuniversität Babelsberg), Leiberg made his debut with THIS AIN’T CALIFORNIA (2012), a genre-defying feature for which he was nominated Best Cinematographer at Camerimage 2012.
With early roots in documentary and music videos, Leiberg has made his name in the international advertising industry, shooting commercials in over 30 countries. Known for his international acumen, breadth of experience and willingness to take risks, Leiberg is a favorite among arthouse directors as well. In 2017 he traveled to Azerbaijan to shoot Veit Helmer’s THE BRA, earning a 2019 nomination for Best Cinematographer at the German Academy Awards (Deutscher Filmpreis). Leiberg’s most recent feature, Marten Persiel’s science fiction THE WAY WE WERE (2020), explores global warming and species extinction, themes close to the DOP’s heart. Elected to both the German and European Film Academy in 2019, Leiberg is represented internationally by BITE Management.
